Top Questions

What can I expect at my first massage?

At your first massage, be prepared to come a few minutes early to complete a health history intake. Once this is done, you will discuss with your RMT what you want addressed during treatment and work with your goals of treatment. Once the treatment goals have been discussed, the RMT will leave the room to go wash their hands and to allow you the privacy to get onto the table and make yourself comfortable. Before re-entering the room to begin the treatment, your therapist will knock on the door to ensure you are ready on the massage table.

Once the treatment is complete, the RMT will allow you time to get dressed and will talk with you about a proposed treatment plan to help accomplish your treatment goals.

Why should I do massage therapy treatments? What will it do for me?

Regular massage therapy treatments can provide some pretty amazing benefits. Seeing a Registered Massage Therapist can help with everything from injury, muscle tension, chronic pain and stress, to joint pain, pelvic floor therapy and sleep issues—as well as providing you time to truly and blissfully relax. Massage therapy is a great way to help enhance both your mental and physical well being on top of positively contributing to your general health and wellness.

Do you use different types of treatment

Yes!
I am trained in cupping, acupuncture, pelvic floor therapy, postural taping, deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, and hot stone massage (currently not offered due to Covid-19). Any of these modalities can be added to your treatment at no additional cost. Discuss prior to your appointment if youd like to try a modality during your treatment, so your RMT can have everything ready for you!

How often should I come for a massage?

Depending on your preventative and maintenance needs, the average frequency is once a month to once every 6 weeks. This time frame can vary pending your pain, discomfort, and even stress levels.
If your specific condition or needs demand it, your RMT will design a customized treatment plan that works for your body and your schedule which may involve more or less frequent massages.
